Notable Faculty Accomplishments
Dr. Robert Kormos was appointed to the Brack G. Hattler Chair in Cardiothoracic Transplantation.
Dr. Matthew Schuchert was promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure. Dr. Schuchert was also named the 2nd annual winner of the Dr. James D. Luketich Chairman's Award.
Dr. Arjun Pennathur was promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure and was appointed to the Sampson Family Chair in Thoracic Surgical Oncology.
Dr. Thomas Gleason was promoted to Professor with Tenure and has been appointed to the Ronald V. Pellegrini Chair in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Dr. Victor Morell was promoted to Professor with Tenure and has been named the Eugene S. Wiener Endowed Chair in Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Dr. Norihisa Shigemura, Director Lung Transplantation Research Program, was promoted to Associate Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Dr. Nicholas Baker was awarded the AATS Graham Foundation Surgical Robotics Fellowship.

The 37-chapter illustrated volume details the main surgical techniques used in the treatment of benign and malignant esophageal diseases.
The book was published as part of Wolters Kluwer’s successful Master Techniques series.
