The Division of Thoracic and Foregut Surgery is widely regarded as one of the most clinically and academically prolific divisions of its kind in the United States.  Led by Division Chief Dr. Ryan M. The division is at the forefront of integrating cutting edge technology into clinical care, including robotic-assisted surgery platforms, robotic bronchoscopy, and new intraoperative imaging technologies.  The Division provides routine to advanced clinical services for benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus and lungs at Pittsburgh hospitals UPMC Presbyterian, UPMC Shadyside, and UPMC Mercy; UPMC Passavant in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh; UPMC East in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh; and UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pennsylvania.
