Dhupar | Soloff Lab

Drs. Soloff and Dhupar have a combined lab that studies immunologic factors important for treatment and prevention of lung cancer in the settings of metastases and toxic respiratory exposures. They use both human tissue taken from the OR as well as mouse models to delve into changes that can be exploited to better understand mechanisms of tumorigenesis, with a special interest in the role of alveolar macrophages.

Their goal is to develop immunologic treatments for advanced lung cancer and prevent its development in people exposed to environmental respiratory hazards (such as industrial plants and burn pits). They have had successfully mentored residents, post-doctoral researchers, and students, and foster an environment of scientific exploration that is patient centered. They have been funded by the VA, DoD, NIH, PA Department of Health, and TSF, among others.
